Privacy Policy - Voice AI Platform
Silencio Voice AI — Platform Privacy Policy
Applies to the Silencio Voice AI platform at ai.silencio.store. Version 2.0 — effective 21 September 2026. Updates and replaces, for the platform, the Website & App Privacy Notice in force since 1 September 2025.
Who this covers. This policy explains how we handle personal data on the Silencio Voice AI platform (the “Platform”) — the website and app at ai.silencio.store where you submit voice and speech recordings so they can be used to train and improve artificial-intelligence systems, and where you are paid for accepted data. It is separate from the Silencio noise-measurement app, which has its own privacy notice.
Controller. The controller of your personal data is Silencio Network LLC, 1007 N Orange St, 4th Floor, Suite 2056, Wilmington, DE 19801, United States. Contact: privacy@silencio.network.
The version you agreed to. This document is the current version. The exact version of these terms that you accepted, and the date you accepted it, are recorded in your account. Earlier contributors accepted earlier versions; updating this document does not change what you already agreed to, and where a change materially expands how your data is used we ask for fresh consent before that new use begins.
1. The short version
In plain language:
We collect your voice. When you record on the Platform, we collect the audio, the transcript, and information about you and your device.
Your voice is personal and can identify you. We do not claim it is anonymous. We reduce what identifies you (pseudonymisation), but raw voice is not anonymous data.
We use it to train AI — ours and our customers’. We license and sell voice datasets to third-party companies (for example AI labs) for training and building AI models.
We only do this with your explicit consent, including a separate explicit consent for using your voice as biometric data.
You are paid in USDC when a customer buys data you contributed, subject to verification.
You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal stops future use and sale, but does not undo processing, licences, sales, or AI training that already happened (see section 8).
2. What personal data we collect
Category
Fields we collect
Voice & audio (biometric special category)
Your voice recording (48 kHz, stored raw), spoken content, duration, and derived data: AI transcript, word-level timestamps, and speaker segments/diarisation.
Racial or ethnic origin (special category)
The optional “ethnicity” field (e.g. “Black or African American”). Collected only with your separate explicit consent — you can skip it.
Profile & demographic metadata
Gender, year of birth, occupation, mother tongue, languages spoken and proficiency, dialect, country of birth, years lived there.
Emotion tags
Emotion labels attached to a recording (e.g. “neutral”), used to train prosody/emotion models.
Recording context
Recording country, location type (home/office/outdoor/studio), background-noise labels, and the script used.
Account & identity (KYC)
Name and verification data, collected to verify and pay you and to meet anti-money-laundering / sanctions rules.
Device & technical data
Operating system, device type, browser, IP address, usage logs.
Payment & wallet data
Destination wallet address and payout/transaction history.
3. Why we process it, and our legal basis
Purpose
Legal basis (GDPR)
Collecting, storing and using your recordings — and licensing them to customers — to train, validate, test and commercialise AI models
Necessary to provide the service you signed up for (paid contribution of data for AI) — Art. 6(1)(b); and for the biometric element, your explicit consent — Art. 9(2)(a), which you can withdraw at any time.
Running your account, verifying data quality, and paying you
Performance of our agreement with you — Art. 6(1)(b).
KYC, sanctions screening, anti-money-laundering, tax
Legal obligation — Art. 6(1)(c); and our legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f).
Security, fraud prevention, enforcing our terms
Legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f).
Why this is “necessary,” not a forced condition. The Platform’s service is contributing your voice data so it can be trained on and sold, and you are paid for it. Recording and using that data is therefore intrinsic to the service you chose — it is not an unrelated add-on tied to access. For the special-category (biometric) element we still ask for your separate explicit consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
4. Special-category data (voice, ethnicity, and what you say)
Because your voice can be used to recognise or imitate a specific person, it is treated as biometric “special category” data under GDPR. If you choose to give your ethnicity, that is also special-category data (racial/ethnic origin). We process special-category data only where you give a separate, explicit consent — shown at sign-up, optional for ethnicity, and repeated when our purposes change. You can withdraw at any time (section 8).
Sensitive things you might say. What you say can itself reveal sensitive information (for example about your health, beliefs, politics or sex life) or mention other people. Please do not include sensitive personal information, or other people’s identifiable details, in your recordings. Where practical we use scripted prompts, and we screen and may redact sensitive content during quality checks. To the extent any special-category content is captured, your explicit consent above also covers it.
Emotion data and the EU AI Act. Recordings may be labelled with emotions to train speech/prosody models. We restrict customers from using the data for purposes prohibited or restricted under the EU AI Act (for example emotion inference in workplace or education settings, or biometric categorisation that infers sensitive traits).
5. We license and sell data — and what that means
We share and sell voice datasets to third parties. This includes AI developers and other customers who license data to build and commercialise AI models. Depending on the deal, customers may receive raw audio, transcripts, and metadata, and may keep and use models they train from it — including after your consent is withdrawn.
Who we share with: customers/data buyers; our service providers (“processors”) such as our cloud host (Amazon Web Services), our KYC/identity provider, and payment/settlement providers; group companies; and authorities where the law requires it. Our token/payout partner is the Blocksound Foundation / Blocksound TokenCo (BVI) Ltd (see section 11).
6. Sending data outside your country (international transfers)
We operate globally and our customers are worldwide, so your data may be transferred outside the EEA/UK. Where we do this we use appropriate safeguards — mainly the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK IDTA/Addendum), or, for a certified US recipient, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Customers who receive data are required to sign these safeguards and to accept limits on any onward transfer. You can ask for a copy at privacy@silencio.network.
7. How long we keep it (retention)
Voice recordings & related data: kept until you withdraw your consent. When you withdraw, we remove your recordings from future use and sale; data already licensed, sold, or built into trained AI models cannot be retrieved.
Identity / KYC records: kept for as long as you have an account with us (and afterwards only where the law, e.g. anti-money-laundering rules, requires).
Payout & transaction records: kept for as long as you have an account with us (and afterwards only where tax/accounting law requires).
Backstops: we delete your source recordings when you close your account, and we review and delete accounts that stay inactive for an extended period. We do not keep source recordings longer than needed for the purposes above.
8. Your rights, and how withdrawal works
Subject to law, you can: access your data; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to processing; get a copy in a portable format; and withdraw any consent (as easily as you gave it). To exercise these, email privacy@silencio.network. We aim to respond within one month.
What withdrawal does. Withdrawing stops future collection, use and sale going forward, and we delete your source recordings from our systems and remove them from future sale, notifying affected customers through a suppression process. It does not reverse processing already carried out lawfully. Where data has already been licensed, sold, or built into a trained AI model, we make reasonable efforts to have it removed or suppressed downstream; complete deletion from an already-trained model may not be technically possible, and the right to erasure is subject to the limits in Art. 17(3) GDPR.
Assignment and your rights. Even where you assign intellectual-property rights in your recordings to us, that does not waive or reduce your data-protection rights, which continue to apply.
Automated decisions. We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing.
You can also complain to your data-protection authority (in the EU/UK), and we ask that you contact us first so we can help.
9. US state privacy rights (California and others)
Do Not Sell or Share; and Sensitive Personal Information. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) and similar US state laws, our licensing of voice data is treated as a “sale” and/or “sharing” of personal information, and your voice/voiceprint is “Sensitive Personal Information.”
If you are a US resident you have the right to: know what we collect; delete it; correct it; opt out of sale/sharing; limit the use of your Sensitive Personal Information; and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Exercise these at silencio.network/do-not-sell and silencio.network/limit-sensitive-data (pages to be created — see the website package), or email privacy@silencio.network. We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals.
